Tomorrow is Self Injury Awareness Day.
People who harm themselves can be anyone. That successful businesswoman? she may burn or bruise herself to cope with the stress of her job. That well-known businessman? he may obsessively pull his hair (trichotillomania). The popular, “happy” teenager? she may go home and cut because no one really sees how she truly feels. Those who struggle are as diverse a crowd as any. As with...

Bleh.
I’m being so lazy. :( It’s one of those days… the grey, rainy, cold days that don’t inspire me to do anything except stay at home, preferably in bed, either with a book to read or my cat to snuggle.
I at least made it to the class I’m auditing, but haven’t done yoga yet. I also skipped the gym, mostly because I haven’t been sleeping well the past few...

So who is getting a Kindle Keyboard?
ME ME ME!!! I’m buying it secondhand from a friend who has a Kindle Fire and wanted to get rid of her other Kindle. She was going to list it on eBay but happened to post on Facebook about it first, and I snagged it. :D I’m getting it for $110, which is for the Kindle, a lime green leather cover, and shipping. :D I’m excited.
One of the...

Who had a job interview today?... who did you...
…that’s right!! I did!! :D
It was for an advertisement-writing position for a local radio station. I’d be writing the ads they air, although I’m not sure if I’d be voicing them or not. I’m pretty stoked because I called twice today and emailed once, and then the dude who owns/runs the station called me this afternoon and said I could come in either today,...

ED recovery challenge: day 4.
4. What are factors that contributed in your choice to recover?
My husband. We first met in-person, as boyfriend/girlfriend, when I was in IOP for my eating disorder in 2006 (had been in residential but was allowed to move down to just 3 days a week instead of 7 after four weeks of res). On the day that he left to go back to Minnesota he said that he would propose to me when I was more...

One of the great things about Tumblr is that people use it for just about every conceivable kind of expression. People being people, though, that means that Tumblr sometimes gets used for things that are just wrong. We are deeply committed to supporting and defending our users’ freedom of speech,…
This is a good idea.
Such a very good idea. I applaud Tumblr...

Yogahair?
This is me after a good yoga session just now. It was spent mostly upside down and my hair decided to show that. xD It’s just in a ponytail but it kind of, um, decided to be upside down even when I was rightside up. :)
Seeing that in the mirror made me snork. xD CRAYZEEHAIR!!

My sense of humor.
My ability to see the light in dark places even when sometimes others can’t.

Honey Fights Super Resistant Viruses Like MRSA... →
lifewithautoimmune:
As drug-resistant viruses become of further concern to not only health conscious individuals but also health organizations worldwide, stronger drugs are often presented as the solution by mainstream health officials. However research shows that honey could be a potent answer to drug resistant viruses like MRSA — without harmful side effects.

Today for the first time ever I ran on the ellipticals with the incline as high as it could go. In 20 minutes I made 1.41 miles — not half shabby when you consider that just a week and a half ago or so I was just biking and in 35 minutes only made it 3.5 miles or so. :D
Next up… time to increase the resistance. Let’s see how well I can healthily push myself!! :D
This stuff...

ED recovery challenge: day 2.
2. What does recovery mean to YOU?
It means so many things. It means not hating myself anymore. It means being able to treat myself to nice things, including good food, without feeling guilty. It means being able to exercise and know that I’m not going to overdo it. It means being able to have a “fear food” and know that I’m not going to end up bingeing on it or...

The time for fitness is now!! :D
I never thought I’d be this pumped up over getting fit, but I am. I want to prove all of those doctors wrong who think that I can’t lose the weight I’ve put on or who think my chronic pain is too debilitating for me to work out. With Lyrica, which is working EXTREMELY well, I am living (almost) as though I don’t even have chronic pain. Yes, I am in pain all the time...

ED recovery challenge: day 1.
1. List your stats (height/weight). What eating disorder are/have you struggled with?
I am currently a little over 200lbs, at 5’6”. I struggled with EDNOS-R - almost anorexia but I never lost my period so I didn’t “qualify” for the actual diagnosis of anorexia nervosa. Right now I am on two medications that cause weight gain, which explains the 30lb gain between...
